LISTEN!
Deuteronomy 6:1-9
Vs. 5- God, our God! God the one and only! Love God, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that's in you, love him with all you've got!
I memorized this like it said to and then repeated it to myself over and over while i was eating breakfast and taking a shower this morning. But then i forgot it....hmmm.
This commandment seems so simple, and yet so hard. When i read it the first time i was thinking, "Wow, that is so straight forward. Just love God with everything. Okay, i can do that." But then i realized that the simplest commandment (love God with everything) is also the hardest one.
It seems kindof vague to me. How do you love God with EVERYTHING in you? How do you give him "all you've got?" I've heard this since i was three so it feels stupid to be asking what that really means. I almost wish i could just take all my insides out and lay them in front of Him. (I don't mean that in a gross way...just figuratively). I wish i could take all my desires, all my plans, and all my concerns out and hand them to God. I guess maybe i can. Would that be the most loving thing i could do?
