CELEBRATING GOD
I thought it was interesting that the book said "maybe you're annoyed" with the way the psalmist was expressing worship. I was kindof annoyed, to be honest. I don't like it when people are overly happy all the time. It irritates me...especially when i am not having a good week. So at first, this psalm gave me that feeling...but then i got to these verses-
God met me more than halfway,
he freed me from my anxious fears.
Look at him; give him your warmest smile.
Never hide your feelings from him.
Psalm 34:5-6
Honesty. That's what i was looking for. I realized that i was getting annoyed with the seemingly fake, happy words of the first three verses, and at the same time i was being fake myself by not living out the words of the next two verses. "Never hide your feelings from him." I've done that.
