Psalm 148:2-5
Praise him, all you his angels,
praise him, all you his warriors,
Praise him, sun and moon,
praise him, you morning stars;
Praise him, heavenly rain clouds;
Praise, oh let them praise the name of GOD-
he spoke the word, and there they were!
As i was reading these verses i stopped after each of the first five phrases and thought, how does that specific thing praise God? For example, How do angels praise God? By singing (at least that's what i think of). And how do his warriors praise him? By fighting. What about the sun, moon, and stars? They shine exactly when he wants them to. And how do rain clouds praise God? By letting the rain fall.
I learned alot by doing this. A flood of thoughts and pictures came to me, and it actually taught me something about life and figuring out what i want to do with it (aka what i want to major in in college...even though i'm pretty sure already.)
So i did my best at organizing these thoughts and putting them on paper, and this is what i got-
I was made to glorify my creator. I do this by doing what i was created to do. But sometimes specifics aren't clear. What i was created to do can be found by noticing when it is it that i feel God's smile, or his pleasure in my life. This is when i am glorifying my creator. Now, obviously we can be, and need to be constantly glorifying, constantly making God look good, but there comes a time when we notice a specific activity or pattern when God's pleasure seems to be pouring over our life. This is where we must put our focus. We must work to place ourselves in these moments where we feel most drenched in his smile.
