Day::120

MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR YOUTH

There was a woman at the nursing home who used to sit at the nurses station late at night eating cheese curls and looking at her hands. Whenever i went over to sit by her she would take my hand and examine it. It was like she couldn't believe how shriveled and wrinkled her hands had become, and she liked to remember what a youthful hand looked and felt like. She also liked to stretch out her legs in front of her wheel chair and look at her feet. Then, almost every time, she would comment that she liked my shoes better than her slippers.

I want to "relish" my youth. I want to love the life i have right now. But when i'm old and my hands are shriveled, i still want to look at them and "relish" what they can do. Even if it's not much.
