Learning to Pay attention
Exodus 3:1-6
I think about 98% of the time, i don't pay attention. I don't mean in classes or when i'm watching a movie, but just in real life. I don't pay attention to whats really happening.
Moses notices this burning bush that isn't burning up and he stops. But i wonder how many burning bushes i walk past every day.
My definition of a burning bush: Something that is surprising, out of the ordinary, or miraculous.
So, i'm pretty sure the fact that God wanted to redeem this messed up world is surprising, out of the ordinary, and miraculous. And that makes every day worth living. Because He gave us a huge burning bush.
Of course there are also tons of little burning bushes.
For example, last week i was talking to my neighbor who was pregnant. She was getting ready to deliver the next day. And then last night i went over to her house and met the baby that was IN HER STOMACH just a couple days ago. I held the little 7 pound man in my arms and watched him squirm. Amazing.
So God, help me to be fully aware of your surprising, out of the ordinary, miraculous world. Help me to pay attention today.

I really really like this. I like your definition of the burning bush. And babies are amazing. Not that I want one. Now. Or anytime soon.
