My favorite part:
"And now this, on top of all we've already suffered because of our evil ways and accumulated guilt, even though you, dear God, punished us far less than we deserved and even went ahead and gave us this present escape..."
I've never thought of it this way. God pushes us to our knees while preparing us for great work. He punishes us while planning for us. It seems like God never gives up hope. Even when we mess up royally, he is still there and ready to teach us and love us. I'll praise him for that today.
